Milk Glass
Sustainability at Parag Milk Foods

At Parag Milk Foods, we believe nourishment goes beyond the glass of milk. It extends to the way we treat the planet, empower farmers, and care for our people. Sustainability for us is not an initiative—it is a responsibility woven into everything we do. We are building a future that balances growth with care for the environment and society.

Milk Glass
Our Approach

Sustainability at Parag is guided by three principles: reduce our footprint, create circular systems, and empower our communities. We ensure that these principles are translated into measurable actions year after year.

Climate & Energy

We are steadily moving towards a clean energy future. Across our plants and farms, we are replacing fossil fuels with renewable and alternative sources of energy.

  • • An 8.4 MVA solar project has been commissioned to power our operations.
  • • Biogas from effluent treatment plants (ETP) generates about 2,000 units of energy every day
  • • Our canteen biogas system replaces nearly 49,000 kg of LPG annually
  • • At our farm, biogas adds another 1,800 units of clean power each day
  • • We are phasing out legacy refrigerants and transitioning to eco-friendly alternatives by 2027
Water & Circularity

Water and waste are treated not as challenges but as resources.

  • • Water is treated, recycled, and reused across our facilities
  • • ETP sludge and lactose filter carbon are converted into manure.
  • • Boiler ash is repurposed to avoid landfill.
  • • At our farms, 25 tons of cow dung per day is processed into organic fertilizer.
  • • We have transformed 75 acres of barren land into green cover, improving biodiversity.
Farmer Empowerment

Our farmers are partners in our sustainability journey. We provide them with tools and knowledge to improve productivity while protecting the environment.

  • • Biogas kits, vermicompost units, slurry filtration, and Azolla cultivation have been introduced to farmer more than 600 household’s biogas units
  • • Training sessions at our milk collection centres help farmers adopt sustainable practices
  • • Solar-powered water heaters and chillers at collection points reduce diesel use and costs
  • • These initiatives not only lower input costs but also improve soil health and household savings
Responsible Packaging & Waste

We take responsibility for what we put into the market.

  • As a registered brand owner under India’s EPR framework, we managed over 3218 MT of plastic waste in FY24-25
  • E-waste and hazardous waste are disposed of responsibly with year-on-year reduction
  • Non-hazardous waste is increasingly diverted into recycling and value-creation streams
People & Food Safety

We are committed to creating safe, fair, and inclusive workplaces.

  • All our facilities are assessed for child and forced labour risks
  • Employees are trained under GMP, HACCP, and FoSTaC food safety programs
  • Strong grievance redressal mechanisms ensure transparency and accountability
  • Workplace safety and ethical practices are integral to our culture
Looking Ahead

We remain committed to scaling our efforts in the years ahead:

  • Expand renewable energy adoption across all operations
  • Complete the phase-out of legacy refrigerants by 2027
  • Increase farmer training and sustainability kit distribution
  • Grow our circular economy initiatives
  • Continue transparent BRSR-aligned disclosures
A Greener Tomorrow

For us, sustainability is about creating a world where every glass of milk is produced responsibly—with respect for the earth, care for our farmers, and integrity in everything we do. Because a healthier planet means healthier people.
